Laura Tack (°1988) is a postdoctoral researcher in Art History. She works on the project “Kairós, or the Right Moment. Nachleben and Iconology” directed by prof. dr. Barbara Baert (supervisor, KU Leuven) and prof. dr. Han Lamers (co-supervisor, University of Oslo).
Laura studied theology in Leuven and Tübingen (Eberhard Karls Universität) and obtained her PhD in Biblical Studies at the faculty of Theology and Religious studies, KU Leuven. She specialized in the hermeneutics of the gospel of John in view of Jewish-Christian dialogue and also published on the reception of biblical motifs in art. After graduating she was a lecturer at the theologicum of the Institut Catholique de Paris. In 2019 she received a master’s degree in Art History at KU Leuven.
Her postdoctoral research concentrates on the 11th and 12th century representations of Kairós and its conflation with other iconographical motifs in the Middle Ages. Focusing on the liturgical and biblical understanding of time, she is particularly interested in how the interactions between text and image gave rise to iconographical transformations at the crossroads of Eastern and Western Christianity.
