Prof. Barbara Baert, associated researcher at Illuminare, is awarded the Warburg-Professur 2023.
The tradition of research in the spirit of Aby Warburg and his students is discussed and continued today at the Warburg House. With the Warburg-Professur, the Aby Warburg Foundation in Hamburg enables research stays with living and working space in the historical Warburg House. Outstanding scientists are given the opportunity to advance and present their work in a focused manner.
The Warburg Foundation is supported in the selection of the honorees by an international scientific advisory board. In addition to lectures, the in-house publication series also serve to make the discussions in the Warburg-Haus accessible to an interested public.
Previous recipients of the professor include Carlo Ginzburg, Reinhart Koselleck or Kurt Flasch.
